Ten Suggestions for Grandparents’ Day of Prayer

By grandparenting 2 years agoNo Comments

Grandparents Day of Prayer is only 59 days away. You may have thought it was a good idea to join in prayer with other grandparents, but what would that look like? How would we accomplish that?

I want to share suggestions for things you can do for Grandparents Day of Prayer on September 11.

  1.  Ask your pastor or Senior Adult Ministry pastor to make an announcement challenging grandparent to pray for their grandchildren on September 11.
  2.  Have a potluck after church for grandparents on September 11 and a prayer time for your grandchildren.2

     3.   Invite grandparents to your home to join you in prayer for their grandchildren.

     4.   Make September 11 a special day of prayer as you pray for each of your grandchildren intentionally.

     5.   Send your grandchildren a note to inform them that you will be praying for them individually on September 11, Grandparents Day of Prayer.

     6.   Download and distribute Prayer Suggestions: “31 Scriptures to Pray and Suggestions to pray for Grandchildren in School” available at http://www.christiangrandparenting.net/free-downloads or purchase the prayer cards on the website.

     7.   There are many FREE RESOURCES at https://christiangrandparenting.com/free-resources/

     8.   Listen to a podcast on August 26, 2012. Cavin Harper is interviewing Lillian Penner, the National Prayer Coordinator, about Grandparents Day of Prayer. www.christiangrandparenting.net/podcast.

     9.   Check out the Testimonials for ideas in the Grandparents Day of Prayer

  10.    If you cannot do a grandparenting event in your church on September 11 because your church has other plans, postpone to a convenient time.

If you have questions, don’t hesitate to contact me at lpenner@christianrandparenting.net.
