As the children are out of school during the summer months, many grandparents can go on vacation with their grandchildren or do special activities.
A number of years ago my husband-built birdhouses with our nine and eleven-year-old granddaughters. He pre-cut the pieces of wood ahead of time, so the wood was ready for the girls to start nailing and assembling the wood for the birdhouses. They had so much fun designing the front of their birdhouse with their unique design.
The girls were proud of their carpentry skills and had a good time building their birdhouses with their grandfather’s help. I could not tell who had the most fun, grandpa or granddaughters.
Summer is a wonderful time to spend with our grandchildren for sleepovers, trips, projects, cooking, crafts, or whatever. Our grandchildren grow up so fast; now these granddaughters are in college. We must take advantage of the time we can spend with them.
I am interested to know what activities you have done with your grandchildren this summer. I would appreciate it if you would share some of the summer activities you have done with your grandchildren in the comment section below the blog.
