These children, like all grandchildren, need praying grandparents, especially as they are going back to school. The Christian Grandparenting Network has seen the urgent need for grandparents to unite in prayer for their grandchildren. Grandparents@Prayer (G@P) groups are grandparents meeting with a specific focus to pray for their grandchildren. At Grandparents Day of Prayer, it’s a good time to introduce a Grandparents @ Prayer group praying for your grandchildren.
A prayer group doesn’t require many members so that everyone has a chance to participate, but it also shouldn’t be exclusive or limited
There’s also accountability to the other members who expect attendance and mutual participation. Meeting with the family of God helps us become comfortable verbalizing prayers. God doesn’t care how we pray; He just wants us to pray. Prayer is our conversation with God.
You do not have because you do not ask God. (James 4:2)
The Bible tells us that iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17). Hearing the heart and discernment of others’ prayers helps to expand our wisdom and knowledge of God as we experience a oneness in the Spirit. It’s a joy to feel the Holy Spirit move in our hearts and put words and thoughts in our minds to express however the Lord leads.
Getting to watch God at work amid the group is without question the most rewarding blessing. Prayer is a special privilege and honor that God gives us to experience the power of the Lord in our life. A prayer group allows us to share a little Heaven while we await His return.
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and more as you see the Day approaching. (Hebrews 10:24-25)
We live in contentious times right now, and we need each other. There’s a sense of peace and joy when a body of believers meets in the Lord’s name for a common cause and His glory. A glimpse of what it will be like in eternity.
“Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” ( Matthews 18:20)
