Our grandchildren have many influences, especially in their preteen, teen, and young adult years. These influences often have a more significant impact than their parents and grandparents.
Ask your grandchildren for the names of their closest friends, teachers, coaches, and pray for them. Children become like the people with whom they spend time. Our aim as grandparents is to encourage our grandchildren to spend time with children who have the same belief system, their faith in Jesus Christ.
The one who walks with the wise will become wise, but a companion of fools will bring harm. Proverbs 13:20 (CSB) The Bible teaches that what we sow today, we reap tomorrow. If we plant our children in the soil of ungodly influences, unbiblical thinking, and non-Christian relationships, then we can expect fruit to grow according to those influences.
- Pray for your grandchildren as they go back to school.
- Pray, they will make wise decisions as they face their influencers.
- Pray for them as they will face the new changes in school, it may not be as it was when they left school.
I have developed “Thirty-one Scriptures to Pray for Grandchildren” that many grandparents have found helpful to pray Scripture for their grandchildren. By joining the mailing list on the right side of this page, you will receive the blogs about grandparenting and suggestions to pray for your grandchildren bi-weekly. I will email you a free downloadable copy of “Thirty-one Scriptures to Pray for your Grandchildren” you can print.
