Heavenly Father, We have seldom if ever, experienced an upheaval like the one being caused by the coronavirus. As grandparents, we can’t help but fret about the health and well-being of our loved ones. We confess that we are worried about our own safety, as well.
We pray that You place a holy hedge of protection around each of us. Please hem (us) in, behind and before, and lay Your hand upon (us)” (Psalm 139:5). Shield us from being exposed to the virus, especially when we leave our homes, either to make a trip to the grocery store or our workplace. Give us discernment about when it is necessary to go out and when it’s wiser for us to remain home.
We pray for Your mercy, for You are our refuge and our dwelling place. Your Presence enfolds us. Please rid our land of this “deadly pestilence” (Psalm 91:3). And remind us that while “weeping may tarry for the night; joy comes with the morning” (Psalm 30:5).
In Christ’s Name, we pray. Amen.
