Are you just plain tired of hearing and reading about this Global Pandemic? Well, if you are, I am writing about it, so stop reading and press DELETE! This pandemic is, what it is, and we have to deal with it. So, what is it? It’s a Shower of Blessings from God! Maybe I’m going a little crazy in isolation, but that’s how I see it! God makes all things work together for good. I can’t visit my grandkids or have them over for dinner or a sleepover. Others in my building have said the same thing.
However, we can still pray. I set some scripture prayers in the mailroom and put up a sign that said, “Prayer Hugs.” They disappeared! Praying for our grandchildren and their families is a blessing. I have been walking Scooter, my dog on the Village Green Blvd path, two or three times a day, since November. Generally, I pass a random person or two or a few dog walkers. Now the roads are filled with families. I’ve met the kids a few times on my walk! Family together time, while taking outdoor walks, is a blessing.
I have received and sent more texts, emails, letters, cards, and phone calls in the last few weeks than usual. I picked a time (dinnertime) and asked the kids to think of and talk about six happy things for each day. I text them my happy list. Communicating love, joy, and concern for family and friends is a blessing. Since I can’t be out and about, I have had more time to spend with God in study and prayer.
I also have tackled some of those areas of my material life that need organizing! An abundance of time is indeed a great blessing! We are blessed because our help and hope are in You, Lord, our God. We thank You, that You bless us abundantly, so that in all things at all times, even this pandemic, we have all that we need, in You.
Psalm 145:5, 2 Corinthians 9:8 Thank you that you have given us a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens, even this season of isolation.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 Thank you for teaching us to number our days and spend our hours with You in prayer and Your Word, so that we may gain hearts of wisdom.
Psalm 90:12 And, Dear friends, I pray that you and your family may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.
3 John 1:2, I’d love to hear about the blessings you have experienced during isolation. Just comment below the blog.
