I very much need and enjoy all the faith-full grandparenting advice and suggestions in these articles. Thank you! Just want to comment on something I’ve learned. The definition of joy in the article is actually the definition of happiness. Joy is what we have in Christ when happiness may or may not be present. My definition of joy is ‘ the awareness of God’s presence in this moment, no matter what my circumstances are.’ When I went through a dark time in my life, my definition of joy was the same as yours. But I was confused because the Bible says ‘ the joy of the Lord is my strength’. I was not happy, and strength was fleeting. I studied JOY. When I put in my definition, it truly did strengthen me! ‘The awareness of God’s presence in this moment is my strength’. Thanks again for your encouragement to grandparents!
