What are you doing with your old photos?

Why not dig into the boxes and envelopes that hold your treasured, forgotten photos of your children and grandchildren and send them to them on their birthday or special occasions. Write a note of the approximate time and place of the picture was taken and your memory of the event. Let them know how proud you are of them at this time in their lives. It is also a good time to communicate with them that you are praying for them and God has great plans for them as they grow up to be godly men and women.

“No eye hath seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him” I Corinthians 2:9 NIV).

Here is an example: My grandson is going to celebrate his 25th birthday. Along with his birthday card, I sent him a picture of his 14th birthday and wrote about my memory of how excited he was with his gifts, cake, etc. It will bring a smile to his face; you can listen to his laughter and make good use of your treasured, forgotten photos.

You place an old picture on their gift tag at Christmas instead of their name or on their place card at your Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner.

You might also give old photos for special family occasion Christmas, or wedding anniversary to family members or friends. Have some fun with your old pictures.

I have developed “Thirty-one Scriptures to Pray for Grandchildren.” Many grandparents are using these Scriptures to pray for their grandchildren. Just by joining the mailing list on the right side of this page you will receive grandparenting blogs and prayer suggestions to pray for your grandchildren regularly. I will send you a free downloadable copy of “Thirty-one Scriptures to Pray for your Grandchildren.”
