God has given us an instruction book to live the adventure of following Him. Let’s make sure our grandchildren know God’s Word is a foundation for their lives. If our grandchildren obey His instructions, they will be firmly anchored, and evil people will not drag them into sin.
If possible, encourage your grandchildren to memorize the Scriptures. Here are a few verses to teach your grandchildren from the Psalms 119.
1 Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the Lord.
9 How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your word.
15 I will study your commandments and reflect on your ways.
16 I will delight in your decrees and not forget your word.
18 Open my eyes to see the wonderful truths in your instructions.
24 Your laws please me; they give me wise advice.
30 I have chosen to be faithful; I have determined to live by your regulations.
35 Make me walk along the path of your commands, for that is where my happiness is found.
44 I will keep on obeying your instructions forever and ever.
61Evil people try to drag me into sin, but I am firmly anchored to your instructions.
72 Your instructions are more valuable to me than millions in gold and silver.
Plus there are many more great verses in Psalms 119 to teach the grandkids about God’s Word. Pray your grandchildren will desire to read God’s Word. These verses are also excellent verses to pray for your grandchildren.
Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for my grandchildren and your instructions for living in your Word. I pray my grandchildren will learn that your Word is an instruction book of how to live and they will memorize God’s Word. When they sin they will be reminded of your instructions for living. In Jesus’ name.
