Prayer is a gift from God that connects us to the heart of the Father. Prayer is not a production; it is an intimate personal conversation with God, the creator of the universe. We have the privilege to communicate with the creator.
One reason we need to pray for our grandchildren is that God has created them for a unique purpose.
- Pray they will understand and accept their God-given assignments.
- Be motivated to pursue them and then trust God to provide the resources to fulfill those God-given assignments.
- Then they will find the contentment that the world cannot offer. Only God can provide fulfillment and happiness in their lives.
- Another reason WHY we need to pray is that we along with our loved ones face many challenges and trials on this journey of life.
We need to ask God to:
- Protect our children and grandchildren physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
- Recognize the deception and evil in this world and be secure in their faith so they can flee from it.
- We can ask God to cancel the assignments from the enemy.
Would you like to find other grandparents to pray with you? We have the answer.
Christian Grandparents Network saw the need and has encouraged Grandparents @ Prayer (G@P) groups to provide a safe environment for two or more grandparents to gather and pray for their grandchildren. Most groups schedule their meetings weekly, bi-monthly, or monthly. Meetings last approximately one hour. G@P groups consist of small or large groups of people meeting once or twice a month at a designated location for 1 to 1 ½ hour of prayer and fellowship.
I would like to share testimonies of a participant.
I love the sweet fellowship, support, and friendships of my Grandparents at Prayer Group. I feel safe to share my heavy heart for my grandchildren and their parents, knowing others will be praying for them. It is wonderful to see how God is answering our prayers in the lives of our families as we pray for them. Carol Glad, Oregon
