My husband and I had three grandchildren when I started to feel a passion for the urgency to pray for my grandchildren. While surfing on the Internet, God directed me to the Christian Grandparenting Network. After sharing my passion with them, they invited me to become their National Prayer Coordinator.
I started writing blogs for Christian Grandparenting Network and Suggestions to Pray for Grandchildren in November 2007. I wrote a book, Grandparenting with a Purpose: Effective Ways to Pray for your Grandchildren, which was published three years later. Today I am posting blog #500 on this website.
Christian Grandparenting Network (CGN) is devoted to challenging Christian grandparents to live intentionally as representatives of Christ for future generations. It is committed to providing a network of resources, designed to strengthen grandparent-grandchild relationships and spiritual growth.
Time has passed since I began working for CGN. Our grandchildren are now adults with spouses and children of their own. Last weekend, we took a picture of the grandchildren, their spouses, and the great-granddaughters with whom God has blessed us. We thank God for our family, our sons and their wives and the grandchildren they have gifted us. Now it is our responsibility to pray for this next generation and to imprint them with the message of God’s faithfulness.
I thank God for all our extended family and the privilege to be a part of the prayer ministry for Christian Grandparenting Network. I love providing prayer cards for grandparents to pray for their grandchildren, encouraging G@P (Grandparents@Prayer) groups, and organizing our 8th Grandparent’s Day of Prayer, which coincides with National Grandparents’ Day on September 9th. I invite you to contact me if you want to learn more about the grandparenting ministry.
May God bless you as you grandparent with a purpose,
Lillian Penner, Co-Prayer Director for Christian Grandparenting Network, lpenner@christiangrandparenting.net
Lillian, your family is just beautiful! Your prayers for them have certainly been answered. Congratulations on your 500th blog! How impressive! Thank you for continuing to bless other grandparents like myself and our GPS group (Grandmothers Prayer and Share) in Melbourne, Florida.
May God continue to bless you, guide you and cover you with His wings.

Candy, thank you for your response. You are an encouragement to me. My visit to your GPS a few years ago was so precious.
