Grandparenting with a Purpose: Effective Ways to Pray for your Grandchildren
I believe the most significant influence a grandparent can have in the life of their grandchildren is through prayer. In praying Scripture, I not only find myself in intimate communication with God, but my mind is being renewed to think His thoughts about the situation for which I am praying, instead of my thoughts. Ultimately, God shrinks the situation that I thought was overwhelming and impossible to a viable possibility. He gives me peace as I wait for His answer.
As we start claiming God’s promises and personalizing the Scriptures, we will experience more boldness and confidence in our praying. Nothing threatens the enemy (Satan) more than when we are intentionally praying God’s Word for our children, grandchildren, and ourselves.
When we pray for our grandchildren’s salvation, we can be confident we are praying according to God’s will. Praying for our grandchildren to know, love, and use God’s Word is one of the most effective ways to pray for their spiritual growth.
