God has positioned us, as grandparents to serve our generation just as David served his generation. We read in Acts 13:36 “ David completed the work God set out for him in his generation.”
According to Deuteronomy 4:9, God’s will for us is to teach God’s commands to our children and our children’s children. In John 10:10 we read the enemy’s purpose is to steal, kill and destroy our families, but Jesus says, “I am come that they may have life, and have it to the fullest”
My husband and I have the responsibility to pray for our grandchildren and teach God’s commands by an example of a Godly life for our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. God wants us to complete the work He has set out for us to do because our family is our first mission field.
Have you thought about God’s purpose for you as a grandparent? Is it to fulfill His commands to be the Godly example to your generation?
Dear Lord, show me what your purpose looks like for me as a grandparent to my precious grandchildren. In Jesus’ name.
Will you make September 11 the National Grandparents’ Day
a Grandparent’s Day of Prayer for your grandchildren?

Dear Lilian,
I’ve been praying Psalm 138:8 (“The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me”) for one of my grandsons (each one has their own verse) and it’s perfect for us as well as praying grandparents.
Thanks for your encouragement.
Julie
