Grandparenting with a Purpose: Effective Ways to Pray for your Grandchildren
Are you going to share the real meaning of why we celebrate Easter with your grandkids this year? Let’s make Easter a special celebration of the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ for our grandkids.
Here are a few suggestions:
- Send your grandchildren an Easter greeting card with a Bible verse and/or a note that you are praying for them. Grandkids always enjoy getting mail from their grandparents.
- Send a CARE package: Easter egg coloring kit, Easter craft, Easter paper plates, napkins, and cups for a family dinner or a storybook with the true meaning of Easter. Of course, Easter would not be complete without some traditional candy.
- Email an electronic Easter card.
- Send them Resurrection eggs which you can purchase at your local Christian bookstore or online at http://www.christianbook.com.
- Make Resurrection Rolls with the grandkids. Look for the recipe I will post soon.

We have also made our own Resurrection Eggs, we made the Resurrection Rolls one year, too. Grandpa tells the Resurrection Story. I haven’t decided what we will do this year. Maybe a scavenger hunt now that the grandkids are older.

Good morning.
As our Grandsons are now old enough to understand, I will be explaining to them that easter eggs, easter bunnies and chocolates are not part of what Christ intended for us to remember about His death and Resurrection. I will explain that these traditions have pagan roots and do not belong in any story where His death and Resurrection are written. We must start teaching truth to our Grandchildren as we will one day have to answer to Father God when He asks us why we did not teach the truth to them.
