Do you have a grandchild in college this year? If you do, I will encourage you to read this press release and sign up to pray for your grandchild and his/her college on Collegiate Day of Prayer on February 25. Imagine the impact we as grandparents could have on the colleges and universities in America when thousands of grandparents are on their knees praying for them. I signed up to pray for my granddaughter and her college, and I hope you will too.
Press Release: KANSAS CITY, MO — The Collegiate Day of Prayer is a day set aside for united and fervent prayer for the college students in America. Historically, starting in 1815, believers reserved the last Thursday in February to pray for the campuses and students in this nation. There was an understanding that on these campuses were the future leaders of America who would shape the culture and society of this nation. Within a few short years, revival began to break out on a number of campuses, significantly transforming the culture and spiritual atmosphere of many of our largest universities.
The goal behind the Collegiate Day of Prayer is to mobilize people to pray, and for God to move again on universities. Its vision is to see every campus saturated with prayer, by those that will “adopt” and pray for schools on February 25th, 2016. Conservatively, there are about 3,000 two-to-four year colleges in America. At the moment, over 850 campuses are adopted, and about 2,200 remain un-adopted.
We are inviting fathers, mothers, grandparents, students and faculty to come together in united prayer for the college students in America. What happens on our university campuses has great influence over the course of our nation. As the students go, so goes the nation!
