This year for Mother’s Day, send the mother of your grandchildren a greeting card with this prayer and let her know you appreciate her nurturing and caring for your grandchildren.
Prayer for your Grandchildren’s Mother
Dear Lord, I want to thank you for the mothers of my grandchildren.
Help them to value their children in the same way You value them.
I pray they will be committed to the responsibility You have given them to teach our grandchildren to love You and train them according to your parenting manual, God’s Word.
Give them wisdom to manage their time wisely so they will be able to take the time to teach our grandchildren the ways of the Lord.
Give them wisdom in how to nurture and care for our dear grandchildren.
I pray they will be loving and caring mothers.
May our grandchildren see their home and family as a “safe place.”
Help their mothers to rule their home well,
not provoking the children to anger.
Help them to be fair and understand our grand children as You understand us.
Pour out your Spirit upon them as they parent my dear grandchildren.
Bless their homes.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

What a beautiful and timely prayer for Mother’s Day. I have five daughters to give this prayer to.
Thank you for using your God-given wisdom and creativity in your wonderful ministry. May our Lord continue to richly bless you in every way.
I am happy to hear that you are going to use the prayer for your daughters.
Lillian – As I read those words on the card to mothers of our grandchildren, it sounded so much like your voice, your heart.
What a great idea. And who wouldn’t want to either do this, or receive this?
Well done…another home run!
Thanks!

Thanks, Carol. You are alway such wan encouragement to me. ay God bless you as you grandparent with a purpose.
Lillian – While I have valued the work that you do for many years now, I would be very reluctant to send this Mother’s Day message to my daughters or daughters-in-law because of the implication in this message that they are not doing a good job as mothers. I feel odd, with my “contrary” reaction, in comparison with those who have commented before me on this site. However, this is how that message strikes me.
May you continue to be blessed in your valuable ministry to grandparents!
Gwen, I am sorry that it came across to you in a negative way. Please forgive me. Thank you for expressing your thoughts. May God bless you as you pray for the mothers of your grandchildren. I hope you are doing well.
